“The purpose of life is to contribute in some way to making things better.”
– Robert F. Kennedy
Throughout our September Program, our international students participated on a series of hikes on Mount Tzouhalem that enabled them to witness a fraction of the beautiful sights available in the Cowichan Valley. However, in addition to this initiative one of our facilitators (Ted) proposed that the international kids could do much more!
Ted’s idea mixed with a little bit of wood, concerete, hard work from our international students, laughs and memories has become a beautiful community bench placed at the tip of Mount Tzouhalem. The bench was placed for the community to enjoy the breathtaking views that the Cowichan Valley has to offer.
Community service is a big part of Canadian culture. In the Cowichan Valley we believe that no contribution is small when it comes to giving back to the community. The sum of all the small contributions by people in our community adds up to making a big impact. We are very proud of all our international students and staff who willingly tackled this project. You have made a difference in our community! Thank you!
